The "After Effect" of US 2012 Economy Election !

Wall Street sinks after election as "fiscal cliff" eyed ...

(Note : DJIA - 12,932.73 (-312.95 OR -2.36%, HSI-21,824.32 (-272.51 OR  -1.25%)

By Ryan Vlastelica
NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Dow industrials lost more than 300 points in a sell-off on Wednesday that drove all major stock indexes down over 2 percent in the wake of the presidential election as investors' focus shifted to the looming "fiscal cliff" debate and Europe's economic troubles.
The Standard & Poor's 500 Index posted its biggest daily percentage drop since June, with all 10 S&P sectors solidly lower and about 80 percent of stocks on both the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq ending in negative territory. Both the Dow and the S&P 500 closed at their lowest levels since early August.
Financial stocks and energy shares, two sectors that could face increased regulation after President Barack Obama's re-election, were the weakest on the day. The S&P financial index (.GSPF) lost 3.5 percent, while the S&P energy index (REU:^GSPEI) fell 3.1 percent. An S&P index of technology shares (.GSPT) slid 2.8 percent as the stock of Apple Inc (AAPL) entered bear market territory.
Obama's victory had been anticipated, though many polls indicated a close race between the president and Mitt Romney, his Republican challenger, going into election day.
The election was considered a major source of uncertainty for the market, but now the focus turns to the fiscal cliff, with investors worrying that if no deal is reached over some $600 billion in spending cuts and tax increases due to kick in early next year, it could derail the economic recovery.

Cold Soba ... my simple Japanese cuisine ^^

Sometime i don like oily or spicy food and prefer simple Japanese cuisine eg. Cold Soba, well if i don want to go out eating any of the day,i will  think of Cold Soba which easy to prepare, nice and healthy, most important ... less cooking and washing ...ever wonder how to prepare the Cold Soba ?   Actually very simple step and simple ingredient too (easily get it from the supermarket, i bought it at the Subang Empire shopping mall,  you just need ...

1) Hakubaku Organic Soba (Quick & Japan-easy-evey night of the week!)

,just boil the Soba for 3mintis and rinse it with cold water and dry it in a plate, keep the soba in the fridge to chill it and serve it with the sprinkle of Roasted seaweed which had cut into small pieces, add a bit of spring onion, ready some wasabi if you love something hot and kickking your nose ^^

2) Shirakikup Soba Noodle Soup base - the sause was keep in fridge to chill it and fill in the small bowl when you are ready to eat the cold soba, it just taste wonderful when the Soba noodle soup mix with the chill cold soba ... oh..make me drool now ^^ yummy

3)  You can  boil a bit of Fujikko benri wakame (salted seaweed) with miso soup to eat with the soba and some side dish like the Japanese Steam egg.

Like it ?  Try it yourself ...you will love it ..enjoy ^^

Genting was the first casino to open its doors in Singapore on 14 Feb 2010. Discussions on whether to develop casinos started in 2005 and it sparked a nation-wide debate, given the negative social impact of gambling. However, the entertainment and tourism value to casinos led the government to push ahead with plans.
+121.7% since opening but….
While it is unclear whether there are more benefits associated with the opening, it has definitely benefited the company’s share price. As at 9 Nov 2010, Genting’s shares had more than doubled from opening, increasing 121.7% in less than seven months (as of 12 Feb 2010 close).

However, after hitting its high of $2.35, Genting has been on a down trend. As of yesterday’s close, the counter slipped 40.4% from its high, while the local bourse only slipped 7.6% over the same period.
Reversal or pullback?
More recently, Genting reached a low of $1.22 on 26 July 2012 and has since added 14.8%, outperforming the local index which gained only 1.9%. MER had previously released a research report on 15 August 2012 upgrading Genting Singapore to ‘Outperform’, raising the 12 month target price to $1.70.

Stock price falls on divestment of Echo
Yesterday, Genting announced that it was going to sell its entire 4.8% stake in Australian casino, Echo Entertainment. Previously, the company paid A$144.2mil for its stake and will now sell at a loss for A$131.7mil. This clearly did not go down well with investors who sold Genting down by 0.7% as compared to Wednesday.

Genting S’pore poised for F1
In other news, the annual Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Pix will be held this weekend and historically the event has attracted many tourists to Singapore, benefiting many tourist related industries, such as Genting Singapore.

Property developers gave away QE3 gains
Both property developers Capitaland (-1.9% dod, $3.13) and Yanlord (-2.0% dod, $1.21) have given up their gains since the announcement of QE3 last Thursday. Some Asians are worried that the US QE3 could flood the property markets with easy cash. Bloomberg reported that SGX CEO, Mr. Magnus Bocker, said that the Singapore exchange is still 12-24 months away from introducing high frequency trading in the equities market. The bourse will need more time in setting up rules to regulate the business. In its AGM, Mr. Bocker commented that SGX non-stock market revenues rose $37mn, largely driven by a 16% increase in derivatives volumes.

SGX fell 0.1% day-n-day to $7.21

Overnight Market Wrap
Is QE3 enough?
The S&P retreated as investors were worried over the global slowdown. It fell less than 0.1%, closing at 1460.26.
In Europe, manufacturing output fell in September while in the US, jobless claims increased this week.
PMI manufacturing in the Eurozone remained below 50, coming in at 46 and the US jobless claims increased by 1.9% compared to last week.
While investors are skeptical as to whether the Fed's plans are enough to help avert a recession, many are still hopeful since the latest QE shows the determination of the committee.

Brace for hot money outflows

By DANIEL KHOO
danielkhoo@thestar.com.my

KUALA LUMPUR: The trading of shares on Bursa Malaysia and the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KL Composite Index (FBM KLCI), which are close to their all time highs, are prone to a sharp crash should hot money, which have been net buyers of Malaysian stocks for the past six months, liquidate their holdings.

Hot money, also known as foreign purchases into any type of local financial security including equities, can leave for various reasons including any change in the dynamics of the global economy, said OSK Research head of research Chris Eng.

“We believe the hot money that is in the system has already taken into account the risks of any upcoming political risks on the frontier. Thus, any reversal will not be affected much by the general election which is expected to be held soon. However, there will likely be an outflow should global market conditions change and the hot money exits equities and the stock market falls,” Eng said.

“Foreign hot money inflows is a regional phenomenon into Asean stock markets especially in Thailand and the Philippines. I will advise investors to buy on any dips should the FBM KLCI correct 5% or more. This will be a good change to accumulate stocks into your portfolio,” Eng added.

Eng also noted that hot money that has been net buyers on the Bursa Malaysia for the past six months was expected to abate and stop their continued buying moving forward.

Bursa Malaysia's benchmark FBM KLCI, which is trading at near their all-time highs, climbed further yesterday by 5.43 points (0.34%) to 1,598.87 on continued foreign and some local fund buying.

Stock market data released recently showed that hot money inflows continued to flood the country's equity markets for the sixth consecutive month in March pushing the FBM KLCI to its record high at the same time.

Data showed that foreign institutional funds saw net buying of RM3.4bil into the Malaysian stock market last month while local retailers and institutional funds were net sellers selling RM0.6bil and RM2.1bil respectively.

Meanwhile, a RHB Research Institute economics department spokesperson said that hot money in fixed income investments was currently at near its all time historical highs and that when these money flows out, it would mean a weakening of the ringgit and a drop in fixed income securities' prices.

“Investments into fixed income securities totalled RM183bil in February this year, just shy of the historical foreign highs of RM186bil in July last year.

“Any rapid and large withdrawals by foreigners from the system will have a destabilising effect on the market including equities and the ringgit,” the RHB spokesperson said.

“Looking at it historically, a case in point is the most recent outflows which happened when the 2008 subprime property financial crisis unfolded in the United States. There was a continued withdrawal of foreign fund holdings in fixed income securities from RM126bil in April 2008 to RM42bil in March 2009,” RHB said.

The spokesperson noted that during this period of financial outflows, the ringgit had then weakened considerably to RM3.70 per US dollar from RM3.14 in April 2008

Absolutely Everybody Needs " Energy "...

What is "Energy" ?

In physics, energy (Greek: ἐνέργεια energeia "activity, operation"[1]) is an indirectly observed quantity. It is often understood as the ability a physical system has to do work on other physical systems.[2][3] Since work is defined as a force acting through a distance (a length of space), energy is always equivalent to the ability to exert pulls or pushes against the basic forces of nature, along a path of a certain length.

And what does "Energy" means to you ?

A Trader Mindset ...

After a break of long holiday and i am back to the trading world, the beauty as an trader was i can plan my own holiday whenever i want and i can trade whenever i want, i love reading article, books, blogwalk from one blog to another and etc etc, the recent interesting article was from one of the blog which i find it is a good reflection of a trader, therefore, i attached it for my reference ...

The Self-Education of a Speculator

As a full-time trader, I don’t have a typical job.'' I have a 5-second commute to my home office.'' I wear t-shirts to work!'' There is no boss standing over my shoulder, and the actual trading hours require a relatively brief daily commitment (6.5 hours) as compared to other occupations.'' And I’m thankful for all of it.

The market closes at 3pm for me, offering lots of time to tend to other things – if I so desire.'' However, my desire is to succeed at trading for the long haul, which means I have lofty goals.'' In turn, I’m not the type to walk away when the closing bell rings.'' I work at it every day to improve and educate myself on an ongoing basis.'' I have to stay sharp.

That means I’m reading books, blogs, spending considerable time working the charts in search of what’s working best right now, and of course reviewing my own trades in order to continue learning.

Because successful trading is so much about finding a style that fits your own personality, it is only fitting to investigate what styles exist.'' An energetic and impatient person may want to become a scalper, looking to day trade quick moves within a short timeframe.'' A laid-back trader may prefer a less-intense style like swing trading, taking positions to hold for days or weeks.'' There are many approaches to the market, and finding your own style can come as a result of identifying with the style of another trader.
Raising Your Awareness

The road to expertise isn’t a short one, particularly in trading.'' I’ve been at this long enough to be considered an expert, yet there are still plenty of days where I’m reminded that I sure don’t know it all!'' Trading will humble you like that, but that’s part of it.'' Regardless, here are some ways for you to get educated as you further not only your knowledge but your trading career in the process.

Books

I’ve read a couple hundred of them on trading, and while there’s plenty of worthless paper out there, you can still find some great ones with timeless lessons.'' I think it’s important to continually seek out information, whether it’s new and applicable now or just a lesson to be reminded of (before the market does it for me!).'' Your self-motivation will help you improve, so dig through the classics for starters.'' Mark up the margins, underline the parts which resonate with you, and return to them often.

I particularly like the Market Wizards books by Jack Schwager.'' He profiles traders in all kinds of markets (bonds, equities, options, futures, mutual funds) and of all timeframes.'' Yet despite their differences, all are highly successful.'' The interview format he utilizes gets you in the minds of these great traders, offering countless lessons.'' (I regularly visit TraderInterviews for the exact same reason).'' Every good trader trades in accordance with their personality, as we all should.

The newest book I would highly suggest is One Good Trade, which is the best trading book I’ve read in a long time.'' Bella covers it all and overlays his lessons with a variety of trading characters (based on real people), which helps drive the lessons home that trading is all about performance, adaptation, learning, and having the right mentality.'' Once I started it, I couldn’t set it down, and I’ve re-read it since

Blogs

Reading posts like this one can’t help but to expand your knowledge and open your mind up to some new possibilities.'' There are countless blogs on trading, but there are some good ones.'' Hunt for those which offer whatever it is you’re lacking….encouragement, psychological lessons, trade reviews, sector snapshots, news on industry developments, interviews, trading videos, etc.

If you’re willing to get honest with yourself and figure out what you’re lacking, you can find some blogs to visit regularly as resources.'' Just be sure they’re written by traders, honest, and not wasting your time, as there’s no shortage of distractions out there that won’t help you grow at all.

Results

If you don’t track your own trades, start yesterday!'' You can record your trading via screen-capture software, but even a journal or simply a grid outlining entries, exits, holding times, patterns, trade context and objectives will shed more light on your trading than you can imagine.'' As you collect results, start to compile them.'' I did this for the first few years of my trading, until I really understood what I was doing, and it helped me assess my strengths and weaknesses.'' Monthly, I’d review my results and calculate statistics which gave me plenty to work on.

You just can’t argue with data!'' Getting mixed results? It may be time to make an adjustment.'' Figure out how your wins and losses stack up against each other, as that’s a great starting point.'' Over time as you endure periods of profits and pain, you have stats to compare against and you can more readily see when something is out of line.

Premium Services

I’d be leaving a huge part of the mix out if I ignored premium services in the education process.'' Early on, I subscribed to a number of sites while I figured out my own style.'' Once I got to the point where I had my own opinion, I knew I had learned enough to need them no more.

Here at TheStockBandit, we offer a nightly stock pick service outlining my own trading plan for tomorrow, which some use to generate trade ideas and others use as a learning tool to see why I plan to take each trade (since each are explained).

We also offer stock trading courses in a video-on-demand format.'' The trading courses explain everything I know about trading, making them an incredibly valuable resource to return to over and over (depending upon current conditions in the market), helping traders see a huge variety of trade types and which kinds of market conditions are well-suited to those plays.

And while I’m certainly proud of and stand behind what we offer, there are plenty of others to choose from which are produced by legit people with a lot to teach you.'' If you want to accelerate your learning curve and truly build your skill set, let someone help you who has done it.

You Get What You Give

If trading is your job or a part-time endeavor you’re passionate about, recognize that your level of effort in the growth process is going to be reflected in the results you get.'' Be willing to apply yourself regularly as you learn more about not only the market, but yourself.

Staying educated and keeping a learning mindset is going to eliminate mistakes as well as some big disadvantages you currently face if you’re halfway new at this.'' As you make that a habit over time, it’s going to continue to pay off in a number of ways.'' Become a complete trader and commit to educating yourself.'' You won’t regret it.

Trade Like a Bandit!

Jeff White

DRBHCOM - The "When" and The "How" ?

DRBHCOM i had observed the chart momentum recently, Another "Dark Horse" this one was Foreign and Local Fund Manager favourite "horse" .. "How" do we know that it was the Fund Manager and also many investor, trader and retailer favourite "horse" ? We will noticed from the Newspaper, forum, blog and etc etc which post their "Target Price" which means they already had accumulate slowly when the price decline (Note: decline almost 22% !), then "How" to judged that whether this "Horse" are ready to "run" ?

"When" was the right time to enter and ride with the trend ? We can clear our doubt with reading the chart pattern as follows :-

1) Bullish Harami Cross - The Bullish Harami Pattern is not a major reversal pattern, however, IS A MAJOR UPSIDE REVERSAL PATTERN. Short traders will not be wise to ignore the significance of a harami cross just after a long black candlestick.

2) Bullish Inverted Hammer - Bullish verification on the day following the inverted hammer is required. This verification can be in the form of the next day opening above the inverted hammer's real body. The larger the gap the stronger the confirmation will be. A white candlestick with higher prices can also be another form of confirmation.

3) RSI was touching 30

4) Stochastic was oversold which is below 20%

One more important question to ASK ourselves was "When" to "Exit", therefore, we must have our own trading plan before enter any trade which means the "Target Buy" and "Target Sale", cut loss if the trending was against our target. (Note: Strong support at RM2.49 AND Resistance at RM3.20) ...enjoy your trading and good luck !

(Note: This is NOT A BUY/SALE CALL, the writeup was for my own pleasure reading and reference, its your own money, is your own responsibilities for your own action, trade at your own risk.)

Be a better trader if you want to trade !! Well ... this is another aggressive action which if know "how" and "when" to ride along the trending, look at the chart ..it was nice and the big swings was beautiful !

(P/S: Disclaimer: This is NOT A BUY/SELL call, its your money, is your responsibility for your own action, trade at your own risk, this writeout was for my own pleasure reading and reference only.)

"Dark Horse" Nicorp - A greatest battle of all time ?

Nicorp - I happen to notice this "Dark Horse" from one of the famous link ...the writeout dd 12-2-12 was here :-http://malaysiafinance.blogspot.com/2012/02/be-better-trader-if-you-must-trade.html

I observe the chart and movement on 13-2-12, it was the most active counter with high volume, here was the chart of the movement ...

If you want to be part of the game in this battle you got to be dynamic, aggressive which act fast, decisive and trade in the same day or even every session or every hour as its highly volatile and definitely you got to have a "Strong and Powerful Heart" which it might against your movement anytime ! Do not hold overnight trade !

Be prepared to cut lost or loose the capital just within the moment, you might have a lucrative return if you enter at the right time and know to exit ! In this game we are either in the Heaven or two steps from Hell !! (P/S: Disclaimer : This writeout NOT A BUY/SELL CALL, its your money, is your responsibility at your own action and trade at your own risk, this writeout was for my pleasure reading and reference only.)

"Hungry" ... Are You ?!

1) Hungry for food ?

Food was the basic needs for our body and in our daily life, with proper and healthy food we are able to move on for our daily activities and etc, while i am hungry searching for food and i found a funny story about Pinochhio ... who is Pinocchio ?
Perhaps here is the picture of him and a brief snapshot of him ...

Pinocchio (pronounced [piˈnɔkːjo] in Italian) is a fictional character that first appeared in 1881, in The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi, and has since appeared in many adaptations of that story and others. Carved from a piece of pine by a woodcarver named Geppetto in a small Italian village, he was created as a wooden puppet, but dreamt of becoming a real boy. The name Pinocchio is Italian for "Pine eyes".

Pinocchio is known for having a long nose that becomes longer when he is under stress (chapter 3), especially while telling a lie. His clothes are made of flowered paper, his shoes are made of wood and his hat is made of bread (page 16 of Collodi's Le Avventure di Pinocchio). Geppetto gave him the name Pinocchio because it is an Italian Name of good fortune.

Comic Books Pinocchio and Geppetto are both major characters in the ongoing comic book series Fables, written by Bill Willingham, first published in 2003. Pinocchio briefly appears in the 2001 movie Shrek and has a larger role in the 2004 sequel Shrek 2 and the 2007 sequel Shrek the Third. Pinocchio also appears in two episodes of the animated TV show The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy: "Nursery Crimes / My Peeps" and "Billy Ocean", only this version needs to eat human flesh to become human and is evil.

A Good Head Start For My Trading Plan Year 2012

Trading in equity was my business and passion, with this clear objective I get myself involved in Investment Seminar whenever i have the time and create the blog as my learning platform. The recent workshop i attended was organised by Martin Wong - Special Talk on VSA (the beauty of attending workshop through webinar, hassle free as we can get the latest information even we are at our own office, home, or on the go).

I attended another seminar on 14-1-2012 which organised by Kenanga Research - 1Q 2012 Investment Strategy - Surfing The Waves of Uncertainties. 2011 was the year of uncertainties and volatility, the volatility of the market has spiked up significantly in early Aug. 2011, when S&P downgraded the credit rating of US, the Japan tsunami during Mar 2011 and the continued of Europezone crisis. Local and Global Markets Volatility to Persist in year 2012 ? Time is the only cure for such high volatility to normalise. Therefore, to deal with such highly volatile investment environment, we believe there is no other way better than :- - going back to the basics, - To trade the volatility or to adopt a trading approach, and - To focus on stock picking or going for "alhpa-play".

How To Position For 2012 ?

1) Investor - Back To Basics - Aiming for defensive stocks
2) Trader - Shoot First, Aim Later ? - Means we prefer to set a short term investment horizon due to concerns over hostile volatility.
3) Alpha Play ? - Alpha play can be obtained via "Top Picks" , "Trading ideas" or "Dark Horses", however, these trading ideas are situational and will be reviewed from time to time.

Happy Trading ...
